Aerial Skills Workshop

IceSheffield 2012 (30)We helped with the Jugglincolnvention and saw this lady running her fantastic classes. As the Misfits have a their own Aerial rig we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to offer you the chance to try out these workshops.  They are at a special low price of £20 and can be booked at the INFO POINT.
Photo 30-05-2015 21 03 24Samara is a freelance circus artist and tutor specialising in Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop, Static Trapeze, handstands and flexibility. She started her journey into an inverted life in 2008 with Pole Dance classes. In 2010 she started trapeze lessons and fell in love with the circus. A year later she trained on Greentop Circus’ ‘Circus in Performance’ course to expand her range of aerial skills then toured with a small travelling circus. Since then she has performed in festivals as well as corporate and charity events, Christmas shows, cabarets, a pantomime and stood on the ceiling as part of an art exhibition!

All classes are 90mins long and 6 people maximum. Wear clothes than are comfortable and easy to move around in and ideally are not too loose and cover the backs of your knees. Aerial arts are challenging and can be tough on your hands and body, but are fun and a good workout! Be prepared to put up with some discomfort, work hard and feel a sense of achievement!

Beginner Trapeze: Try the classic circus art of static trapeze. This class will cover basic moves around the trapeze bar. You’ll learn tricks from sitting, standing and under the bar. This class will work you hard, but give you a thrill.
Beginner Hoop: Try out the graceful art of aerial hoop. This class will cover different entries on to the hoop and basic poses in it. Try spinning and hanging and challenging transitions.

Beginner Silks: Learn the basics of this beautiful and challenging aerial art. This class will teach you different ways to climb the silks and basic poses from the ground and up in the air. Depending on strength some poses from inversions will be covered. For this class, a good level of upper body and core strength is helpful

I’m looking forward to attending festival 8 and teaching aerial to those that are up for a challenge! Cabourne Parva is a lovely venue to fly in and try something new.
