Tucked behind the old granary, next door to the Salon, this intimate playing space is usually the birthplace of many surprising festival entertainments. Over the last couple of years, we’ve had some amazing acts from local Scunthorpe folk band, Ramble Gamble to the amazing technical wonder from Lincoln; Pete & The Experimental Sonic Machines. We have seen comedy and prose, music and song. Last year we had an up and coming family friendly magician who dropped in on our open mic session. It’s another part of the festival that embodies the spirit of ‘we are the festival’; as we like to say, Festival 8, Particip8!
The Minimatt Busking Stage is a place for all new talent across many genres. Enjoy a range of artists, musicians, poets & spoken word performers.Open Mic Session (Sunday 22nd)
The Minimatt Busking Stage also hosts and open-mic. This year is on for 4-5 hours on Sunday. So if you have your own instrument and want to play, roughly three to four songs / performances, come along and put your name down. We have an electro-acoustic, Keyboard, Bass & Cajon available to use, alongside some other unusual instruments.Last year we had so much amazing talent it was hard to fit everyone in. We operate on a ‘first come first served basis’ and we will do our best to accommodate everyone. We will have a range of pre-booked artists playing on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday as well as running the open mic sessions.
