Meet the Compères

The Circus tent and Party Barn both have compères this year, each has their own style and delivery….. these guys are here to give you some info about the bands and encourage to show your appreciation…. we thought we’d dedicate a bit of web space to introduce them…..

In The Party Barn

Hazy Jay has been involved in live music since he was 8 years old performing as part of an orchestral ensemble, going on tour for the first time aged 11. Since then he has been an underground dance/club DJ playing nationally, a radio DJ, an event/festival organiser, and a compere for a variety of events in the East of England. He regularly comperes the main stages at Strawberry Fair – a 30,000 – 40,000 attendance, free festival, in Cambridge (once hosting 3 stages in one day resulting in lots of running and ruined shoes!) – plus a variety of other events. Known for his research into the acts he presents, dressing up where appropriate, making the audience feel included, and his quick witted banter, Hazy Jay will both inform & entertain you.

In the Big Top

Michael AKA Carpo has always been a lover of music and dance, attending many gigs and festivals. He’s played guitar for a band supporting some big names such as Space, Cast and Mark Morris. Carpo has volunteered at many of the festivals that have been at Cabourne Parva and around Lincolnshire, also performing with The Earthbound Misfits in fire shows, as walkabout characters and teaching people circus skills. Friends of his have claimed that he’s a natural performer with impersonations and knack for “on the spot” wit and acting. You may have met Sheena the Cleaner, Micky Michael Michaelson, Quick Micky or Randigulf McHoof. A few of the characters he has brought to the festival fields.

I am delighted and fortunate to once again be compèring at Festival 8 which has to be one of the best festivals in Lincolnshire and the country maybe the world!! I look forward to seeing all of you on the dance floor!
