Opening and Closing Ceremony

Opening and Closing ceremony.

At festival 8 this year I will be leading an opening and closing ceremony for the festival, supported my many friends and organisers of the festival. Our intention will be to connect with the land here, honour the guardian and spirits of the land and ask for permission to thoroughly enjoy and play in their space, whilst having respect for the land and everyone around us. We will be asking for their support and assistance in energetically holding the space, so we are safe to let go of our everyday concerns and enjoy the love and the freedom of this most beautiful festival that has been created here. This way, we bring a respectful, deeper and higher dimension to our festival experience creating a portal for true transformation to occur.

Moving through the cycle from previous years of Festival 8, the element for this years festival is FIRE! In the ceremony we will have the intention of harnessing the element of fire throughout our festival experience. Now you can’t get any greater transmutation then the element of fire!  By nature, nothing that enters a fire stays the same, it can only be transformed… Use this element wisely, it can be your greatest ally… Enjoy the festival! ☺

The benefits of opening and closing sacred space.

Through my experience I’ve found that when clearing and blessing a space, with a focused intention, your environment becomes a sacred container for a profound level of support and assistance and deeper wisdom to come through. We can make sacred any kind of environment we are choosing to be ‘present’ in such as holding a ceremony, a working environment, an event, a meeting, a conversation with a partner, a client/practitioner appointment, meditation, or the ‘simple’ art of being with oneself. There are many ways of opening and closing space, but what’s most important is that we take time to ground and connect with ourselves and anyone else involved, if appropriate, have a clear intention of why we are wishing to open a sacred space, call on and honour a Higher Power and the unseen to support this process and then once the activity is complete, with gratitude for all the support you have received, clearly close the space again, in love.

Through creating sacred space we have the opportunity to step out of our ego’s way of doing things and connect with Spirit (source / consciousness) and the various elements and energies of the ‘unseen’ world to ask for support, protection and at times guidance when needed. There is so much support and guidance around us, in the unseen world, in nature and in the ether if we take a moment to ground ourselves, connect to our hearts and in gratitude ask for assistance. By acknowledging the presence of a Higher power (something beyond our ego’s) and the unseen dimension we have the opportunity to create many situations and spaces within our lives that are guided and supported in a deeper way, imbued with the highest agenda, for the greater good of our highest selves and those around us. As well as supporting and enhancing our own lives, those close to us and our community ultimately this intentional way of being is helping to feed the highest most consciousness on the planet, that which wishes to create a life of love, harmony, peace and connection for every living being on this planet.

About Vicky

I’ve been exploring my own healing journey, spirituality and the nature of energy for over 20 years. And for the last decade have been actively working with people from all walks of life to support their own healing process, creativity, self- empowerment and spiritual journeys.

I’ve immersed myself in several personal South American shamanic journeys over the years, working with various medicine women and men, as well as co-creating retreats in Ecuador. During this time I’ve had a close relationship with an Ecuadorian Curandera (Indigenous Quechua female Shaman and Healer), who through initiation and transference of power ceremonially married me to Spirit.

I’ve also undertook various trainings including Trance Dance Ritual facilitator (Hawaii), Shamanic Practitioner and Healer (Spain), Yoga Teacher (Bolivia / Peru), 3 Years Shiatsu Diploma (Devon, Uk).

Through my experiences I’ve developed my own life’s path and service in working with people individually and through ceremony, workshops and retreats fundamentally creating safe, sacred spaces where people have the opportunity let go of external distractions and dive deeply within, connecting with themselves and the bigger experience of their being. Finding easy ways to access ancient rituals and tapping into inner wisdom beyond the mind are an important part of my work and I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
