Treehouse Outdoor Education

Festival 8 prides itself on offering plenty of things for children of all ages to join in with and have fun.  This year we are delighted to welcome Treehouse Outdoor Education who will be running a delightful space for children from toddlers to 12's. Treehouse’s mission is to reconnect children to nature, to play and create from natural resources and environmental education.   We run forest school sessions, nature clubs and teach food growing in schools.   The treehouse kids area at festival 8 will include a story telling tipi, a workshop shelter and a craft tent.  All set close by

Bushcraft Chat and Make a Penny Stove

As well as a series of talks on various subjects in the talks tent there will be a number of other bookable activities for you to to join in with.  Festival 8 is pleased to be able to bring a you a very informal bushcraft session with Cheyenne. Working with wood is  a wonderful skill to learn. Having respect and love for trees and realising how important they are to our survival, is something Festival 8's organisers know.  We really wanted to do something at the festival involving wood and we knew the man to ask. The Earthbound Misfits

While planning Festival 8 we decided an essential element, that we have seen work so well at other festivals, was to ensure we had both things for children and big kids to do, plus we wanted to have some interactive walkabout characters.  Luckily for us, we have a very successful local company that offers all those services.   The Earthbound misfits were written into our festival plan and we know that you will love interacting with them and joining in with their fun and games. Hawkmoon Crafts

A regular stall holder at the Cabourne Parva festival site, Hawkmoon Crafts is a small home-run business which makes handmade felt items from beautiful, soft, colourful merino wools & silk fibres... felt wall art of flowers, trees, toadstools, moongazing hares, to name a few, using materials such as twigs & driftwood, pottery charms & beads to turn them into lovely, unique hangings.. also makes other items such as beads, bangles, stone-felted pots, flowers, leaf-jewellery, bags, scarves & more... Festival Emporium

Festival Emporium sells Hand made stuff out of wood ;-) funky furniture, chain saw carved owls, tables/stools etc walking sticks and such like. They have hand painted crafts and many other other festival type crafts, incense holders etc etc from all over the world (fair traded), sometimes Phil does some of the more gentler carving on the stall for people to watch, hazel flowers etc. The Festival Emporium stall is always worth a good nose around as they have some great items amongst their interesting mix of hand crafted items.
