The Sweetchunks Band are a Southampton based eccentric comedy outfit, performing bastardised versions of songs that you know and brilliant versions of songs that you don’t. They are known for their ability to entertain any audience with a fun, engaging performance that leaves people smiling, dancing and humming the tunes for hours afterwards. The Sweetchunks Band create a memorable evening of fun and dancing.
The festivals they have played so far in the UK include Isle of Wight Festival, Beautiful Days, Mudfest, Watchet, Bearded Theory, Something to Smile About and much more. They have supported acts including Chas and Dave, The Wurzels, Hobo Jones & the Junkyard Dogs, Professor Elemental, Ferocious Dog and The Beards.
Featuring: Stuart Blakeledge – Vocals and Banjo, Ash Lines – Bass, Mike Wiles – Guitar
One of last year’s crowd favourites The Sweetchunks Band are back once again with their brand of Folk-filled humour and drinking songs. These clever lyricists perform a mixture of original songs and cover versions, including a particularly perverted version of Prince’s “Kiss” and a thoroughly reworked version of the Levellers “Boatman”. These guys know how to entertain a festival crowd and get the first dancers of the weekend on their feet. A surprise cover of Kenny Loggin’s “Dangerzone” from Top gun was thrown into the mix. This traditional folk mixed with blues and a smattering of Steampunk really has something for everyone with the foursome leaving the stage to generous applause.
